Our Story
Refined Mixology began with a genuine love for creating cocktails and bringing people together. What started as casually mixing drinks for friends quickly became something more when everyone kept saying, “You HAVE to do this for real.”
That encouragement grew into a veteran-owned mobile bartending company serving weddings, corporate events, and private celebrations throughout Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
Every event is approached with intention. From fresh ingredients and handcrafted mixers to custom cocktail menus and polished presentation, each bar experience is thoughtfully designed around the client, the celebration, and the guests being served.
Our commitment to quality and professionalism has also given us the opportunity to serve high-profile celebrations, including an event attended by members of the Obama family.

Hi, I’m Alexis, founder and lead mixologist of Refined Mixology. As an Air Force veteran, I bring discipline, attention to detail, and calm execution to every event—along with the warm, energetic personality that keeps guests engaged.
What began as mixing cocktails for friends grew into a business centered on fresh ingredients, creative menus, and bar experiences that feel intentional from the first pour to the final toast.
For me, bartending is about more than serving drinks. I love learning the story behind each celebration and translating it into a cocktail menu and presentation that feels personal to the client. My goal is for clients to enjoy their events while I ensure the bar looks beautiful, runs smoothly, and becomes part of what their guests remember.
